Global Cash Access Signs Multi-Year Agreement with One of World's Largest Resort Casinos
Foxwoods Resort Casino to Continue Using Full Array of GCA Products and Services LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 2006--One of the world's largest resort casinos will continue using Global Cash Access, Inc. (GCA) products and services for multiple years as part of a contract extension Foxwoods Resort Casino recently signed with GCA. GCA, a leading provider of cash access products and related services to the gaming industry, offers a number of products and services, including ATM technology, cashless gaming products and marketing services that help casino patrons access cash, help gaming establishments better understand their patrons, and enhance gaming establishments' patron marketing activities. Located in Mashantucket, Conn., Foxwoods Resort Casino - which the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation owns and operates - features three hotels, a 1,400 seat theatre, an arcade for children, a salon and spa, first-class shopping venues and more than 340,000 square feet of gaming space in a complex that covers 4.7 million square feet. More than 40,000 guests visit Foxwoods each day. Foxwoods will take advantage of multiple products and services including Arriva(TM) Credit Card, QuikCash Plus(TM) Web (QCP Web), Automated Cashier Machine(R) (ACM) 3-in-1 ATM, QuikCash(TM) cash advance terminals, EDITH (Electronic Debit Interactive Terminal Housing) and Central Credit check warranty service offered by Central Credit, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GCA. "We are pleased to extend our long-term relationship with this very important customer and thank them for this opportunity to showcase some of our newest products like Arriva Card and EDITH," said Diran Kludjian, executive vice president of sales for GCA. "In addition, presenting EDITH on one of the largest gaming floors in the world will only further drive momentum for this compelling new device." The GCA products and services Foxwoods will offer include: Arriva(TM), a product of Arriva Card, Inc., and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Global Cash Access Holdings, Inc. Arriva is the first credit card specifically for use in casinos and has many features not typically available with traditional credit cards, including better rates and terms on cash advances and an exclusive loyalty program. Arriva also benefits casino operators by providing their guests with a new source of credit, at no risk to the casino. QuikCash Plus(TM) Web, a proprietary browser-based, full service cash access transaction processing system for casino cashier operations. It processes multiple financial transactions through one device, streamlining operations and increasing the speed of transactions. Automated Cashier Machine (ACM(R)), an unmanned, cash-dispensing virtual cashier designed to provide patrons with credit card cash advances, point-of-sale (POS) debit card transactions and ATM cash withdrawals, as well as check cashing services without the need to visit the cashier on subsequent transactions. By eliminating the cashier interaction requirement, the ACM has the potential to reduce transaction times, improve the customer experience and reduce cashier labor costs. QuikCash(TM) cash advance terminals, which are customer-activated, touch screen terminals that provide casino patrons with POS debit card and credit card cash advance transaction options. Available in kiosk, countertop, wall-mount, free-standing and handheld models, QuikCash terminals can be installed virtually anywhere in a gaming establishment. EDITH (Electronic Debit Interactive Terminal Housing), a compact kiosk placed at the end of a row of slot machines to allow casino patrons to purchase slot, or ticket-in ticket-out (TITO), vouchers with their debit card. EDITH is reliable and simple to use. Patrons simply insert and remove their debit card, enter their personal identification number (PIN) and request an amount. Upon approval of the transaction, a bar-coded slot voucher is then dispensed from EDITH's voucher printer. An optional receipt is also provided upon the patron's request. The bar-coded slot voucher may then be inserted into a TITO-enabled slot machine or redeemed at a cashier station. Central Credit, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GCA, and the leading source for gaming credit information, with a proprietary database of gaming patron credit history and transaction data on millions of gaming patrons worldwide. To allow gaming establishments to improve their credit-making decisions, Central Credit offers a variety of tools, including underwriting of gaming patron credit requests, pre-approved credit screening and gaming credit reports. Central Credit check warranty service is a service through which payment on certain types of patron checks is warranted, which allows casinos to eliminate the risk of nonpayment on such checks.
